Life in the Spirit Short Course

WHAT IS IT?

Life in the Spirit is a short course created by a team at Parramatta Baptist Church which explores the person, power, presence and giftings of the Holy Spirit. Built upon a solid biblical and theological understanding of the Holy Spirit, the course aims to empower, equip and grow believers in their ongoing practical experience of walking with the indwelling Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:25).

WHO IS IT FOR?

This course is for anyone wanting to grow in their understanding, awareness and responsiveness to the Holy Spirit. If you feel like you haven't had much teaching on the person of the Holy Spirit, this course is for you. If you feel hungry for more of God and a greater experience of his presence in your life, this course is for you. If you know you have gifts of the Spirit and want to be encouraged, stretched and practically equipped in knowing how to grow into those, this course is for you!

WHAT IS INVOLVED?

The Life in the Spirit course is centred around three main components:

 1. Teaching Videos

           Prior to each session there is an online teaching video provided. These are full of biblical and practical teaching, as well as testimonies of real, everyday Christians sharing some of their experience of the Holy Spirit in their life.

 2. Group Sessions

           Everyone doing the course meets together in these sessions, for:

                  a. personal interaction in a small group to help each other respond to what God is doing in our lives,

                  b. combined worship,

                  c. discussion and development of the teaching theme (based on the videos),

                  d. practising responding to the ministry of the Holy Spirit together.

  3. Personal Reflection

           At the beginning of the course each participant will receive the course booklet. The booklet has an outline of each teaching session, where you can add notes and insights, has reflections to spend time on during the week after the sessions, as well containing suggested accompanying Bible reading for throughout the course.

WHEN WILL IT RUN?

Life in the Spirit will run over 4 Wednesday evenings, followed by 3 Saturday half-days where we will be joined by the Life in the Spirit team from Parramatta Baptist Church. The dates are:

Wednesdays 7:30pm-9:00pm

• July 26th 
• August 2nd
• August 9th
• August 16th

Saturdays 9:00am-12:30pm

• August 26th
• September 9th
• September 23rd

As each week builds upon the last and is part of the whole, we highly encourage every one doing the course to make all sessions as much as they are able to.

WHAT WILL IT COST?

There is no cost for participating in the course.

As you feel able though, a donation towards covering the costs of running the course would be appreciated (to cover the printing costs of the booklet and the travel costs of the Life in the Spirit team).
