Reflection: Together for the Kingdom (Travis)

"I pray also for those who will believe in me... that they may be one as we are one— I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me." - Jesus, John 17:20-23

This week I had the privilege to represent NVBC at the One Church Prayer Breakfast; a unity movement with a heart to see God's Kingdom spread throughout the Central Coast to the glory of Jesus. As I sat around a table with Anglican, Salvation Army and Pentecostal pastors, I felt a great alignment with a deep personal conviction of mine:

Jesus is pleased with, and blesses, his people who walk in unity.

It's not just across churches, but also in each church where this beautiful prayer of Jesus for oneness among his followers finds expression and outworking. We are one, united together in our common love for Jesus and sharing in the common experience of His grace. We are one, united together in our common mission to see the Kingdom of God come in power across the Central Coast and beyond. We are one, sharing in the common experience of living for the one who saved us and who is working all things for good.

Let us continue to be encouraged as we walk alongside one another, committing ourselves to oneness and unity as we together seek the blessing of the Central Coast in the name of Jesus.

Ministry Highlight: Working Bee

Thank you to all our hard working bees last Saturday! It was so wonderful to hear all the laughter, chatter and joy in the air as a team of 30 of us tackled some spring cleaning around the church property. Our church buildings and grounds are looking ready to welcome thousands of visitors tomorrow to vote in the local government election.

Some of our many volunteers hard at work!

Election Day BBQ is here!

Come support our Election BBQ tomorrow! Come for a vote, then stay for the community vibes and great food & drink on offer. To help host our community, please walk down if you're able to or park on the back grass area if driving to leave the carpark available for our guests.

To our volunteers: a huge thank you for helping out! A quick reminder that instructions and the roster for the day was emailed out on Tuesday. See you then.

Search Team Update

A big thank you to all who have been covering our search team and process in prayer! The search team is in the final stages of the discernment process before bringing forward a recommendation to the church. Please pray for God's continued leading, and his confirmation over what has been discerned to this point in the process.

Finance Update

Thank you to all who continue to support and resource the ministry and mission of NVBC through your giving!

We continue to pray for God's provision over your households and over our church family.

This Sunday

This Sunday Josh Thomas is preaching in both services on the story of Passover in Exodus. We will also be celebrating communion together, remembering that Jesus is the Lamb of God whose blood was shed to save us and set us free.
