1st November 2024

The Gathering Weekend

A great big thank you to all who came along, connected and helped make last weekend a great time away together as a church community! If you helped in some way by transporting gear, helping with set up, being a marquee expert, using your worship gifts, giving someone a lift, helping serve food or by going out of your way to have a conversation with someone you didn't know - thank you, thank you, thank you!

Being Grateful and Generous

It is a confronting reality that within our own region there are many who do have the resources to buy enough food for each day, some who do not even have a place to stay. That thought alone should give us pause... Are we truly thankful for our 'daily bread' that God has provided us with? Are we thankful for and generous with the excess we have to share with others in need?

This Sunday we are collecting non-perishable food items that will be donated to those doing it tough across the Central Coast, which will be passed on through the local organisation Health on the Streets. If you would like to be part of our church's response, all non-perishable donations can be dropped off in the NVBC foyer this Sunday. In particular, we are seeking:

Non-perishable food items: such as tinned food (not requiring a can opener), breakfast drinks, long life milk, cereals, pasta, muesli bars, snacks, biscuits, pasta and sauces etc.

Specific items requested: toothbrushes, deodorants, pillows and dog food.

Baptisms Postponed

It has been a big few weeks in the life of our church! With the disruption to Friday Youth from school holidays, HSC exams and The Gathering, and the passing of Phil Bryant impacting many of our youth leaders, we have made the call to postpone this week's scheduled baptism service. On the plus side that means it's not too late to talk to one of our pastors about baptism!

Guest Preachers coming up!

Next Sunday we are excited to welcome guest preachers Brett Robinson (Wyong Baptist) in the AM Service and Charlotte Jorgenson (Green Point Baptist) in the PM Service. The following Sunday we will welcome Craig Stephens (Salvation Army) in the AM Service.

Brett, Charlotte and Craig have been invited as a sign of unity and our shared mission to reach the Central Coast with the Gospel of Jesus. Each will share as part of our being 'The Church in the World' series.

Latest Finance

We continue to thank God for his guidance, empowering and provision over His church here at NVBC. And we give thanks for the continued faithful and generous financial support of so many in the life of our church. As the end of 2024 draws closer, here is the latest update on our finances year to date.

This Sunday

We're back to our normal 9:30am and 5:00pm services this Sunday, as we begin our new series on being 'The Church in the World'. At PM our Youth Band will be leading us in worship!

Non-Perishable Food Drive

Any non-perishables purchased as part of our food drive can be dropped off at church this Sunday. Our donations will help to resource a great local organisation 'Health on the Streets' who are working with the vulnerable across the Central Coast.
