Spring is in the air
It's happening all around us! The days are getting longer. The air is getting warmer. Things are budding, flowering and growing in our gardens once more... Spring is here.
Spring can be a beautiful time of year where it feels like the whole world is emerging out of the shadowy winter months into a season of growth, life and sunlight. It's not just the world that emerges out of winter but, in some ways, we do too. The changing physical season can bring us a fresh energy and fresh motivation. We can find ourselves naturally engaging in 'spring cleaning' - the practice of decluttering, deep cleaning our homes and tackling outdoor projects like pruning, fertisiling and planting.
It is almost as if, in some small way, we naturally want to align ourselves and participate in God's renewing work throughout creation during Spring.
If you have ever felt this natural fresh energy and motivation rise within you, here is a question to ponder alongside it: what if you directed that same new found energy and motivation towards your inner, spiritual world? To put another way: what would it look like to undergo a "spiritual spring clean"?
Join us this Sunday as we consider that question together!
Kingdom Kids Term highlights
What an amazing term 3 we have had in Kingdom Kids. It was a great term learning about the amazing miracles Jesus did and how our children can grow their faith through their own personal relationships with God. Our children explored the stories of Jesus healing a man, calming the storm, bringing a girl back to life and feeding 5000.
During these weeks our children also learnt through these stories about how we can show compassion to those around us just as Jesus did, how we can have faith in Jesus when going through tough times, as well as telling others of Gods great love. Our 1-6 grades had the opportunity to serve our families by helping provide and set up for our connect weekend Sunday lunch as well as our father’s day celebration. This was a great opportunity for our children to use their giftings and show love to our church community.
When we return in term 4 we will be kicking off our teachings around ‘Mission’; we will be focusing on stories that teach us how we can share the love of Jesus to those around us and this will lead us into our Christmas season.
That was a win!
For those who didn't get the chance to vote or be part of last Saturday's election BBQ, let us tell you: it was a massive win! The conversations, connections and first impressions that many in our surrounding community experienced onsite was what we had hoped and prayed for. A big thank you once again to all who helped be part of this amazing day.
