Striving Together as One

Last Sunday I preached about Living for the Gospel, from Philippians 1. In my sermon, I mentioned that it's not a solo-pursuit. Paul encourages the Philippians to strive together as one for the sake of the gospel. I see our NVBC church family the same way. We are called to strive together as one, not to strive by ourselves.

As we continue to consider what it means to Pursue God this year, and as we continue to press on to take hold of that for which Christ has taken hold of us - as we seek growth and transformation by the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives - let's encourage one another and get alongside one another in this pursuit.

You might want to join a Connect Group, invite someone to come with you to our upcoming Alpha course, host a Connect Weekend event, or just stay later after a Sunday service and connect with someone. Let's not try to do the journey on our own this year - let's strive together as one for the sake of the gospel.

Alpha Course - Help Wanted

Alpha is running on Sunday nights in term 2.

This is a great opportunity for people to learn what Christians believe, covering topics such as Who is Jesus? Why and How do I pray? Who is the Holy Spirit? What about the Church?

We are looking for people willing to use their gifts and talents to help with the course - such as table facilitators, caterers, and more... If you are interested in helping out in some way, please speak to Brad & Jenny Jones, or to one of the pastors.

And keep thinking and praying about who you could invite to explore through doing the Alpha course this year. It might even be yourself! If you're a new Christian or still exploring faith, we'd love to have you join us. The course will be running on Sunday nights (after the PM service), beginning 4th of May.

Update on Next Door

Thank you to all who were praying into and sharing your sense of God's leading regarding the sale of the property next door. The property is now listed as sold, closing the door on this potential opportunity for NVBC. We trust in God's timing and will in this.

A special thank you to the Taskforce set up to investigate the potential uses of the property and the possibility of NVBC pursuing purchasing it. There has been a lot of work invested behind the scenes - clarifying key questions, talking to experts, seeking and debriefing reports and exploring financing options to name a few. Thank you each for your heart to serve our church, and ensuring that due diligence was carried out in our discernment.
