Little things in the hands of God
A warm welcome. A kind word. A timely gift. A genuine thank you. A heartfelt prayer.
A personal invite. A follow up question, "how are you really?".
For the followers of Jesus, these become so natural to us that we can often do them without even having to think about them. In the hands of God though, and the story he is weaving in the lives of others, these "little things" can be impactful beyond our imagining! Take this testimony for example:
"If he had not stopped me leaving at that moment, my life would be 180 degrees different to what it is today, and I am so grateful."
At our monthly Seniors Communion Service last Thursday, it was Gillian Hobday's turn to share her story and testify to the ways God has been at work in her life. Like all the stories shared each month, hers was one to celebrate, be thankful for and to draw fresh inspiration for daily living from.
One of the parts of her story that jumped out to encourage us, was the ways that God powerfully used what many of us would consider "normal" NVBC life - a teenager inviting his mate to a church run youth program, gentle invitations to church, and a warm welcome. But in the hands of God, and the story he was weaving in Gillian's life... well, we thought it was so encouraging that we wanted to share her story from last Thursday for you to read.
Let us not underestimate nor give up on the practice of the "little things", for we too may become a feature in someone's testimony that God is writing right now!
May your eyes be open to the opportunities around you today. May your hearts be soft to those whose paths you cross. May you be filled with faith to practice the little things, trusting that they can be impactful beyond our imagining in the hands of God.
REVIVE '25

After a 3 year hiatus, REVIVE is back!
The Valley Youth will be hosting this year's combined Central Coast youth groups event! There will a load of fun, amazing worship music and guest speaker.
But more than all the good times is the opportunity for youth to meet other like-minded young people and see that God is at work in other places on the Coast!
Insight High School Ministry
It was wonderful to hear from Kerry and Dylan last Sunday, as they shared their heart for serving the youth of our region with Insight High School Ministry. If you would like to hear more from both of them (and from the other Insight worker Ellie), check out the video below.
If you were inspired by these stories and you'd like to support Insight, you can go to https://www.insightcentralcoast.org.au/ and set up a direct debit to give a regular financial contribution. Insight is in need of more financial support, to employ these three workers and bless these three schools. And if they can increase their income sufficiently, there may be opportunities soon to reach other local High Schools with more wonderful gospel workers like Kerry, Dylan and Ellie.
