What's your Christmas Eve tradition?
This is week three of Advent Conspiracy. What are your reflections about week 2 (Spend Less)?
Have you found time this past week to focus on gratitude? If so, how did it go?
Where did you notice God this week? Do you have any stories to share?
Today is about giving more. Is it easier for you to give gifts or receive gifts?
Watch this week's video:
What is the most meaningful gift you've ever received? Why did it leave a lasting impression on you?
The video talked about 'relational gifts'. Does giving relationally come easily to you? Why/why not?
As you consider giving relationally this Christmas, what most excites you? What will be the biggest challenge?
How do you intentionally slow down and stay present during the Advent season? Are there boundaries you might need to put in place to help you?
Read John 1:1-14
What does this passage say about God's gift to us?
How can our gift-giving at Christmas time reflect the generosity of God toward us?
And how could it miss the mark and be about other things?
What creative gift-giving ideas do you have - share your ideas, both past and present, to inspire one another in thoughtful, relational gift-giving.
End your time together in prayer. Pray that God would give us thankful and generous hearts, share your prayer requests, pray for each other, and pray specifically for God to give each person creativity as they think about giving relationally.
